Over the many years I have been using bland DVD-R discs, I have always stuck to Datawrite Titanium. In the hundreds of discs used, I probably have only ever had a handful of coasters, that being mainly due to me trying to do too much for the computer to handle. Now with buffer protection of the burners, I never have a failed disc and therefore well worth the money for that alone. I know a few friends who opted for the cheaper brands and ended up with plenty of new coasters. False saving.
When printing direct on the disc, the image quality is superb with almost instant drying time. I used to print on paper labels and use a device to stick the label on the disc. However, over time, the label starts to peel causing the disc to be off balance. In the machine, this makes a disc wobble and makes a noisy disc. Now, printing directly to the disc is a massive time saver and because you get no out of balance with peeling stickers, you have a quiet running disc.
If you find a disc that works for you and your computer/burner, stick to it. This is the disc that I use.
