Titanic were the first band I saw live, in a marquee on the seafront of Perros-Guirec in 1972. They were a talented Norwegian rock band (with an English singer) in the style of Deep Purple. Being Paris- rather than London-based, their style was naturally a bit cheesy on record... so some of these tracks are duff. But "Something On My Mind" is a classic on the level of Stray. And this is the Titanic album which features "Sultana", their African-inspired Big Instrumental Hit. A varied album.

Titanic's 1970 effort is a nice mixed of rock and ballads. The opening track, Searchin, will leave you under the mistaken impression that you are in for a full CD of Free and Deep Purple influence rock. You would be wrong. Track three, Mary Jane, is a nice ballad with a searing guitar solo (Three Man Army influenced - Angeline in particular). Cry For A Beatle has nice George Harrison influenced guitar solo - lovely track. The mix of styles continues with track eight - I See No Reason (Pretty Things influenced) and will stick with you. The two bonus tracks were from 1971 singles including their 2nd (although minor) hit, Santa Fe (think Redbone). All in all, this will get you interested in the band if you like tasteful well played early 70's rock.
