Tissues and Issues 13 July 2005
Format:Audio CD
A wise choice to release the highly anticipated album on the back of the huge success of 'debut' single 'crazy chick'. Already being hailed as best pop single of the year, charlotte has had a fantastic start to her pop music career.
Although a risky choice to ditch the classical music and move into the mainstream market i think she has pulled it off and produced an album containing a whole range of genres and moods. A lot of pressure is on charlotte to be the saving face of pop music but she will be able to do it. Although the majority of the public love to hate her and will critisize her regardless of how good this album is, you cannot ignore her voice and songs such as future single 'call my name', the girls aloud-esque 'let's be alone' and intriging and personal 'confessional song' indicate that she is filled with confidence and maturity.
My personal favourites would have to be either the quirky upbeat 'moodswings' (brilliant lyrics) or the spanish operatic fusion 'casualty of love'
This is the perfect album to reflect charlotte's maturity, confidence and talent as both a singer and a songwriter with a album containing out-and-out pop anthems to Motown-infused tracks and heartfelt ballads which provides something for everyone to enjoy!

I wasn't convinced that "Charlotte goes pop" would work, but it certainly has. There's everything from downright raunchy to quiet and reflective. If you're thinking of buying on the basis of liking the two or three tracks you've heard on the radio, then go ahead:all twelve tracks are quality. There's no substitute for class.....and Charlotte's got it in abundance.

Totally bowled over! 12 Mar 2006

Call My Name and Crazy Chick were good enough but the rest of the album is inventive, mature and I can't stop playing it. The R&B influence is just great and Charlotte sings it so well. What can I say... I'm impressed!
