I bought this guide to help to prepare students for the IELTS examination but found it rather disappointing. Broadly, it consists of a series of tips, some fairly obvious others rather questionable, divided between the four IELTS papers and, for the reading paper, the different types of question. Much of this advice can be obtained free on the internet or in IELTS study books.
The main drawback is that the advice is given with very few examples, and those it gives are short. This means anyone using it for self-study must rely almost entirely on the text. This is not particularly well written or arranged, so students may have difficulty applying the tips to real examples. The price of what is a fairly small book also seems high.
