My 2.5 year old is long out of nappies, but finds life very frustrating as he insists on doing more and more things on his own. I have never been happy to encourage him to use a stool to climb up to the toilet with an aim to him doing this on his own at some stage, as there are far too many risks that I worry about (our solid, heavy toilet seat falling down on him after he tries to lift it himself, him falling into the toilet!!, him slipping and falling onto the stone floor or the cast iron bath) and I don't think these worries would disappear for some time to come - at least not until he is tall enough to reach things safely. I particularly worry if I think about when he starts to use the toilet himself at night half asleep. We tried one of the toilet trainer seats with steps, but even though he has finally mastered the rather tricky skill of getting up and turning around on it, the seat itself was not particularly comfortable and he would only sit down for a few seconds - never long enough to actually do anything.

So for these reasons, I think that this product will give my son far greater independence and is a much safer option in the long run. At the moment I still have to "point him in the right direction" when he uses the product, but he was visibly delighted when he saw it, immediately understood its use and was very happy to try it out. I think that he must feel far more secure with his feet firmly on the floor and without mum making sure he doesn't fall off the step stool!

The toilet trainer itself comes with two adapters for different types of toilet. It was easy enough to fit the adapter to the trainer and clip it to the toilet. As the other reviewer noted, you can leave it in place off to one side and still have adults use the toilet as normal.

It's ok, it doesn't necessarily fit the best on our loo - even though it comes with two difference fittings for loo size. I think it hangs a bit lower than I was expecting, so when my son uses it sometimes there are still splashes around the toilet that I need to wipe clean.

Only thing I don't like is the tip over to flush clean - this doesn't seem to work well in our loo and often I feel that the flush doesn't quite rinse all the way through.

Not sure how much I will continue to use this moving forward.

The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was not the quality, or the component part or indeed the instructions (there weren't any)...but the pubic hair which was stuck to the item! Guessing I received an unchecked return.
As far as the item itself, it has served the purpose for which i bought it, i no longer have to hold a potty up for my son, and he is enjoying his independence, it tips to empty straight into the toilet, but still requires a wipe as any remnants pool in the bottom. My husband somehow manages to knock the whole thing into the toilet when he empties it!
I managed to fix it securely to the bowl despite a choice of parts and no illustration/instructions to assist me.
I could have hit the roof with disgusted about the afore mentioned hair...but as a mum of three kids i deal with pretty gross stuff on a daily basis.

Wow! What a simple but amazing product. My 3 year old can now independently "go" all by himself. It fits nicely under the toilet seat and is small enough that you don't need to remove it when a grown up needs the loo.

my 3 year old boy loves this. he can go to the loo all by himself and actually refuses to have us help him, as he wants to "wee like a big boy". I wish I knew about this when we were potty training him. Highly recommend this, fits perfectly on our toilet. although after a few weeks I believe it might be the impact of the seat on it, it has been coming off once in a while and requiring repositioning, but no big deal

Within 5 minutes of this arriving my little boy had already used the trainer successfully. Having really struggled with potty training this is a revelation! Now from being a reluctant user of the toilet or potty he can't wait to use it and will even run past the potty to get to 'his special toilet'. Very easy to fit and so far easy to clean, can't recommend it enough.

My little boy is 2 1/2 and he thought this product was great. He stopped us going into the bathroom with him and would just go hisself. I have a 7wk old boy and will use again to potty train him too. Felt it did tip into toilet as easy as thought it would but does the job in getting him trained ! X
