very disappointing, 1 Jan 2008
I am very disappointed with this product. It is very large and clumsy and the supporting arm only just takes the weight of the structure- in fact I am not entirely convinced that it is safe. It is not suitable for use with a younger baby who may be still sleeping on a mattress in a higher position as the rotating toys may touch the baby's face.
The light and fluid filled disc create a disappointing effect- my baby did look at it for a few minutes but she was far less interested than she was in her disco ball or musical light box (both of which were MUCH cheaper and do not take up half the bedroom!)
Bear in mind the fact that the assembled mobile is very large and it can make it difficult to take your baby in and out of the cot. When we tried to swivel the supporting arm to make this easier, the weight of the toys and arms made the whole frame fall to the side.
I have to say that in my opinion there are much cheaper, far more attractive and equally stimulating mobiles available and the high price of this one is not an indication of higher quality.

Baby loves it, Mummy does not!, 18 Mar 2008
A generous relative gave us some cash for our newborn son, so we decided to splash out on this mobile. I was drawn by the fact that it played Mozart, which it's said stimulates a baby's development, and it had some black-and-white components which are more visually stimulating for newborns.
The mobile does enthral our son! He absolutely loves it, and it affords us twenty minutes peace should we need it. It's useful too for distracting him at 5 in the morning when he wants to play. The music and motion turn themselves off after 20 minutes, which is handy as we don't wake up with it having been on all night. The pieces of music are not too annoying either for an adult sharing a room with their babies, and the volume can be controlled.
However, and there is a huge but, the arm is not secure, and, as mentioned by another reviewer, it slides down to either the left or right when you try to push it out of the way to get your child out of the cot. The whole thing could easily land on your little darling, and it's really quite weighty. Also, perhaps more disturbingly, the liquid centre leaked onto my son's face! The colours had merged, and I found my boy covered in dark green liquid! It scared the bejesus out of me, but the manufacturer assured me it's totally non toxic, and it didn't stain the sheets. (To be fair, they have been fab and sent us a new part, but we can't fix it on!) I do hope it's a one-off, as it's a good little product.
All in all, a great idea, but not so well executed. It does has some awesome features. Maybe buy this if you do have some spare cash and keep the receipt!

Great toy!, 3 Aug 2007
My 11 week old son started with a hand me down Fisher Price mobile consisting of 4 stars circling round to flashing light and electronic music. He started appreciating mobiles a few weeks back and would move his arms and legs in excitement when he is looking at the Fisher Price mobile. However the simple mobile did not capture his attention for longer than 5 - 10 minutes. I decided to look for another mobile to keep him occupied. Recalling a recommendation on Tiny Love mobiles, I went shopping for one.
This model is the latest and has lights and moving liquid part that are absent from the other models. It is quite expensive but I decided to splash on one.
It turned out to be a good investment as my son loves it. He is able to spend longer than 20 minutes staring at it while cooing, gurgling and smiling away. It is easy to see why. The mobile consists of several moving parts at varying distances creating visual depth. The soft toys do not just rotate round and round like other mobiles but also rotate on its own separate axis. In the middle is a disc of different coloured water. The visual complexity keeps baby happy for a longer time than the typical mobile.
The music is very pleasant even to adults - nothing jarring and sounds like something out of a CD rather than tacky electronic music. There are 3 pieces: mozart, bach and nature (birds chirping and gushing stream).
This must be the rolls royce of baby mobile at the moment! A worthy investment for parents who want to have some free time and to give babies good stimulation at the same time.
