4.0 out of 5 stars Useful Info But Very Repetative 4 July 2014
By Jazzy2bsure - Published on Amazon.com

If you're just curious, or are doing your research before transitioning into the Tiny House movement, this little but is an interesting take on the "Why's", the "How's", and the advantages of Tiny and Small homes. However, I did not give this title a 5-star rating because the author repeats the same information many times, to such an extent, that I started skimming paragraphs to get onto something new. A good 30% of the book could've been shaved off if the content had not been repeated so many times. With that being said, it is a beginner's starting point and will provide valuable information to consider if you're thinking of downsizing to, or starting out with a Tiny House. For that reason alone, I would recommend it to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very helpful guide indeed 27 Jun. 2014

As someone looking to purchase a smaller home this guide has been fantastic in helping me make that choice. It gives a strong list of reasons why going with a smaller home is the smarter choice (especially in this economy) and how it can really benefit you in the long run.

It was absolutely worth the price in my mind and I hope others get a chance to take a look inside and this helps them as much as it did me. A big thanks to J.R. Shepherd for putting this out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars A well-written book about "living large in a small space" 2 July 2014
By L. Clifford - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have to admit that when I first heard about tiny houses a couple of years ago I wondered how anyone could live in such a small space, but as my financial situation changed and my own concepts of what mattered grew more refined my opinion changed on tiny homes. In "Tiny Houses: A Beginner's Guide to Living Small" J.R. Shepherd offers a well-written and practical guide to understanding, planning and successfully living in tiny houses with style. From the benefits you reap from living in a smaller space (such as cheaper living costs and getting away from unneeded possessions) to maximizing space, this is a smart and insightful guide that allows you to delve into "living large in a small space" in a wonderful way. Once I finished reading this I was really motivated to set things in motion for a tiny house of my own, so I would definitely recommend the book to anyone who is considering living in a tiny house or for anyone who just wants to know more about the possibility of doing so.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, very basic info for the uninitiated 4 July 2014

Almost a little too basic for me, but there was some excellent information about rainwater gathering that I found useful. A good quick read and it was free!
