Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Though Timbaland's work might be characterised by its daring unpredictability in terms of rhythmic structure, it's his youthful sense of fun that proves most infectious. His ideas feed both the empirical and the creative mind alike. Tim's Bio is an elegant summation of the first chapter in the musical life of the producer who has revolutionised the sound and context of American R&B (and urban-based music as a whole) in as little as three years, with his smash albums for Aaliyah, Missy Elliott and Ginuwine, along with Tim's own partnership with rapper Magoo (who forms somewhat of a power core of Tim's mercurial crew, Da Bassment). Bassment regulars get the star treatment they have become accustomed to, while new talents--such as Kelly Price and wordsmith Twista--shine just as brightly. --Tamara Palmer

Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Ginuwine, Aaliyah... they're all a bunch of friends and artists with a positive sound and message. They are beyond that bad-boy, gansta, money-making attitude. Not many people do realise, but many of the recent popular releases in the R&B and hip-hop / pop music genre in general, have been significantly influenced by the Timbaland sound. Timbaland energetic approach on rhythm and sampling has been a real refreshment for the R&B sound. Many even refer to the up-tempo rhythm of Drum'n Bass, though Timbaland himself stated clearly that he knows the UK sound of D'n'B but was not influenced by it. His sound grew out of the Miami Bass sound... and of course his own imagination and (am I permitted...) genius. He worked with many guest artists on this CD, turning almost every song on this CD into a pearl on its own. The track 'Who Am I' with Twista (formaly known as Tung Twista - the fastest rapper in the world) is as far as I'm concerned the phattest one.

Watch out for this man, he will be BIG in the near future, so get his premier solo joint now!
