Great-looking watch at a low price, however there's two issues I'd raise. The product image makes the face look like it's plain white - I'd describe it as more a very light grey/off-white colour, presumably that's soemthing to do with the Indiglo (which, as others have noted, doesn't quite extend to the very top of the watchface). Also, having owned this for just over a week, the "day" dial has stopped rotating correctly so I'm now going to have to send this to Timex for repairs. The watch comes with a 1-year warranty but customers are still liable for P&P charges.

This is a very nice and simple watch, back to basics chic going on so dress it up if you want and all. For me it's nicely made, nicely put together and holds time well - have had it for 6 months now and is still exact to the second with the digital Casio I synchronised it with. Lovely little number for all the discerning gents out there!

    2013 UPDATE:

Watch still going strong. Have replaced the strap which had started to disintegrate at the back (a bonded leather strap it is), like for like - had to get in touch with Timex UK who sent the strap with free p&p. The kind lady took my order over the phone and within a couple of days my watch was as new. Battery also packed in a couple of months ago, local watch repair man did the honours. Accuracy is still spot on. Only real complication to date has been the day and date not displaying in full. This is a recent thing which I am putting down to its age and how the cogs understandably are not as well oiled as when I first bought this beauty. A few taps on the watch face helps the day / date markers along. Just a few mind, I'm thinking the tapping isn't helping the mechanism and further reducing its life expectancy. All in all, still very pleased with - so much so that I will purchase again when my current one is beyond revival.

I bought my Timex Easy Reader watch in Cebu airport, Philippines, late in July 2009. I was in a hurry because I on my way to Davao city and the boarding gate was going to open very soon, therefore I didn't have much time to choose from the many watches on display in the TIMEX shop in Cebu airport.

I liked the simple classic styling of the Timex Easy reader. But the Day and Date are a bit hard to see. When the Day and date is changing it seems to take a couple of hours at around midnight before the new date and day appear properly, during which time you wonder what day and date it is.

I like the dark brown leather strap, but at the time I would have preferred if it had been a black strap. The thick brown leather is comfortable. It says on the advertisement that it is brown but it looks a bit like dark red.

The large numbers on the dial makes it very easy to read the time. The red second hand agrees with the colour of the leather strap.
I have had no problem with my watch. I have not had it for a full month yet. It keeps good time. And it is comfortable to wear and it doesn't irritate my wrist. It is easy to buckle and to take off again. It was not expensive. I consider it a good quartz workman's watch. It is elegant and classical. It might even look better if you put it into a black leather wrist cuff.

It is supposed to be water-resistant up to a depth of 30 metres, but I douldn't advise anyone to wear it while swimming.

The bluish-green light come on and illuminates the dial when you press in the winder button. When you take your finger off the winder the light goes off.

The Philippina girl in the TIMEX shop was very nice and helpful and patient.

I bought one of these watches four years ago in Tenerife and have always found it excellent but, to my dismay, when I went to get a new battery fitted (the first since new) it gave up the ghost! I was told that this type of watch normally only lasts for 4 or 5 years and is then not economically repairable - so be warned. It's a joy when it works, but I'm sad to lose it.

I like this watch. It is smart, easy to read, and as always with Timex I know it will last a long time. I have bought similar Timex watches over the years and they really last. My problem is that I wear them while working and after a while the glass gets scratched heavily or covered with paint etc, but still they tick!! Battery lasts for years also. Recommended.

I wanted a simple leather clock with calendar and I got it 100%. I love its looks, the clock is very easy to read, it is comfortable to wear it and I also like that Indiglo light. You just need to press the button and the whole dial shines in some kind of green colour. The only drawback I have noticed yet was that the Indiglo light leaves a tiny space (maybe 1% of the dial) unilluminated. It doesn't cause problems to read the time but it irritates because I know that the watch's quality isn't perfect.

To make it short, I think this is a great product and I would definitely buy this watch again. If you don't look for something fancy, just a classic, simple, cheap, functional watch I would recommend it for you.

I like the indgo light so easy in these winter evenings to see the time.
The face is very clear with out being too big.
There is a day and date indicators, i am very happy with this
