Bought this for my 6 year old year 2 son to practice at home. It covers 2,5 and 10 times tables, then 3 and 4 in that order, with plenty of practical and engaging exercises rather than just boring sums! For example the child has to colour in a painting-by-numbers type picture colouring in only those numbers which are answers to the X times table to see what the picture shows. They also use shopping scenarios (the pears cost 3p. How much do 6 pears cost?), 'number machines' etc.

I think most children could do with more practice that this one book provides, especially if you are not going to sit them down and make them learn the tables parrot-fashion, but it is a great little addition to reinforce the learning.

Bought this for my son who was struggling with times tables. He found it very enjoyable which helped with this learning.

This book is a great activity book with lots of practice that I have come to expect from the Collins activity books. It covers the 2x, 10x, 5x, 3x, 4x tables and also deals with doubling, halving, where two different times tables give the same answer (e.g. 3x4 = 4x3). Lots and lots of practice questions but no real "quick tips" for how to learn specific times tables. I would really recommend Carol Vorderman's Times tables book for that but this is fab for fun practice. The book contains lots of different types of practice with lots of pictures. Great for kids.

Cannot believe that my 6 year old son was asking to to do pages from this book without being prompted!

I bought this and the books 1-3 as a set from Costco for a lot less money. The books are excellent but like the one star reviewer I immediately picked up that numbers ending in 0 are not marked as even when I have been explaining to my little one that they are. The times tables also only go up to 10 times and at school (well my little one's anyway) they have to go up to 12 times tables so I have added things in for little one basing them on the questions already in the books which has worked really well. After 2 days little one understood that doubling is the same as the 2 times table and it has boosted confidence so quickly. I would definitely recommend but do check the book for the 0 and whether your child needs 10 or 12 times tables. Had it had the 0 and 12 times tables I would have given them 5 stars.
