Product Description

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Planet of the Apes, Hasslein Books announces an extensive chronology by author Rich Handley. Every film, episode, novel, comic book and more is covered, from 1968 to the present--including several unpublished works. Along with a painstakingly detailed timeline spanning millennia, this volume features a gallery of more than 350 cover images, a recommended viewing/reading order, an examination of time travel in the Planet of the Apes mythos (both on screen and in print), and a title/creator index of published fiction-plus, insightful notes discussing preliminary and discarded story concepts, inconsistencies and discontinuities, unpublished lore and other fascinating trivia.

About the Author

Rich Handley has authored numerous fiction titles, features and columns for Lucasfilm's licensed Star Wars universe, appearing in Star Wars Insider, Star Wars Galaxy Collector, Star Wars Gamer, Star Wars Fact Files, The Star Wars Adventure Journal and Dark Horse Comics' Star Wars Tales, as well as on starwars.com. Rich served as a reporter for Star Trek Communicator magazine for several years, and has also written for several other genre magazines and Web sites, including Cinefantastique, Cinescape.com (now Mania.com), Dungeon/Polyhedron, Toons: The Animation Magazine, Star Trek Magazine, Sci-Fi Invasion!, SFUniverse.com and Simian Scrolls. In addition, he has edited and written for a variety of trade publications, as well as several local newspapers. A magnificent labor of love 26 Feb 2009
By Robert J. Sawyer - Published on Amazon.com
Rich Handley's Timeline of the Planet of the Apes is a magnificent labor of love. He's taken on the staggering task of trying to make sense out of the jumble of contradictory facts and figures -- not to mention temporal paradoxes -- in the five original movies, the live-action and animated TV series, Tim Burton's remake, and more, presenting a fascinating chronology of humanity's downfall, the rise of the apes, and the ultimate fate of our planet.

The book is gorgeously designed, handsomely printed, copiously annotated, and more fun than -- you guessed it! -- a barrel of monkeys. Highly recommended.

Comprehensive List Indeed! 23 Feb 2009
By S. Farmer - Published on Amazon.com
If you have an interest in the Planet of the Apes or know someone who will, this is the book for you. As the title states, it's a chronology; a complete timeline that puts information at your fingertips for easy searching. There is more information here than I had expected to find and I'm sure I'll see the movies and books in a whole new light.
