Format: Audio CD
I absolutely adored last years' "Above And Beyond" album by Bad Habit, a record of which I said "this is an immense work, probably the best of their career, something that should encourage bands resting on their eighties laurels to try a little bit harder." As usual, I was right. It came close to AOR perfection.

Three of those tracks are repeated here, for this is your actual Bad Habit best of. Now I'd rather have had a new album, but doubtless any new fans acquired over the last year would want to know more, so here it is. It actually kicks off with two new tracks, the AORtastic 'Turning Water Into Wine' and the stone cold classic, one of the best rock songs you'll hear this year, 'Rock This Town'. A song in which Bad Habit tell all and sundry how they're going to rock this town, in a manner unseen since 1988. It's a floor filler of the highest order, which would have seen any of the haunts of my youth jammed to the gunwhales with air guitars. It's a party rock tune, a bit at odds with their glossy AOR, but I just love it.

Then it's on to the oldies but goodies. To be a pedant, I should point out that the songs from earlier in their career are the re-recorded version from their 21st century retooling, but it so doesn't matter when the songs are as good as this. There are four songs from "After Hours", 3 from "Revolution", 3 from "Above And Beyond", 1 from the "Young & Innocent" EP, 1 from "Adult Orientation" (although not according to the sleeve) and, um, none from "Hear-Say". Odd. However, with songs as good as 'A Lot To Learn', 'Everytime I See You', 'I Don't Want You' and 'Surrender', it really doesn't matter. It was also fun to hear 'Need Somebody' from their debut EP. Look up the cover art for some big hair fun!

This is absolutely essential, top drawer, ultimate AOR. You need this.
