Book Description

2 April 2011
"Okay Tom, you get to choose. What is your favourite period of history?" Thomas looked a bit bewildered at the bizarre twist the conversation was taking but answered without really having to think about it. "The dinosaurs," he said. The Professor let out a huge groan and Rebecca beamed with delight at the answer. "Dinosaurs? Oh very good Tom, excellent choice. Right, is everybody ready?" She stared ahead for a second as if trying to see something in the distance and then stepped forward, pulling the children with her. The three of them disappeared... Thomas and Emily Fletcher are quite normal children; normal in that their uncle mysteriously disappeared and now a medieval knight is trying to kill them. The only way to find out why somebody wants them dead would be to go back in time and ask their uncle, and the only people that can help are the teachers at the Tempus Viator School of Excellence. So it's very lucky that their new friends are time travellers...

5.0 out of 5 stars A great plunge into fiction 24 April 2011
By nick
Format:Paperback
This was a great family read, enjoyed by all. We have read many books together which some people may think is sad but it has been very important and fun time together, from Dan Brown to The Golden Compass Trilogy to the Harry Potter series. This book was a great mix of fiction with history (which I hated at school, but was fascinated by in the book). The characterisation was intriguing and really drew you into the book. We all identified with different characters and had different favourites. We subsequently bought the book as presents for nieces, nephews and friends and received great reviews in return. As a result the book has been put into several school libraries and is proving very popular. A great first book with us all looking forward to the next installment. Buy it and enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great surprise 12 May 2011
By Nick
Format:Paperback
Bought this for my 12 year video game fanatic who I've been struggling to get into reading. To my great surprise he flew through the first chapter and was genuinely excited ... he spent the next few nights hooked on it. Since finishing he's actually been asking me to buy him more books. Very, very pleased!
