5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and reliable 9 Jan 2011
By Fluzy
Very reliable, it'll keep its timer settings if you move it round to another socket in the house, or through a powercut. The big on/off/auto button is handy if you want to override it, some of these types of timers' buttons are so fiddley but this one is good. Its simple to set, I lost the instructions but its still easy and obvious to programme. Invaluable for Christmas tree lights, saves bending down to turn them on and off every day. It so useful that I'm buying an extra one.

1.0 out of 5 stars BE WARNED! 20 May 2012

These are NOT Timeguard TG77 timers, but cheap, unreliable imitations. I'm pleased that the photo has now been changed to represent the product you'll received - compare this with the Timeguard website and you'll see the difference. Still a slimline electronic timer, but you get what you pay for. I have 2 of thes, and within a month of use they were not working correctly - not switching off or not switching on or wiping the clock & timer programmes. I'm sure that there are laws of misrepresentation being broken here, but for a tier you an trust, stick with the GENUINE Tieguard timers

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally switched on 2 Dec 2010

Having used these TG77 electronic time-switches to control oil filled radiators in my previous London flat for several years, I can vouch for their reliability and easy programming. I also received them from the supplier within two days of ordering, which is excellent service. I re-familiarized myself with the programming procedure quite easily and programmed the two time-switches I received in 10 minutes. Providing that you remember to press 'SET' with each programming option as described in the instructions, there should be no problem.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money 11 Jun 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
This product is a total waste of money. My star rating has nothing to do with the supplier they were very helpful with the problems.
The timers loses the programs that were set, also the 24 hour clock crashed. I sent a timer back and got full credit. My wife then went out and bought 2 timers from a shop that happened to be the same timers, and the same problems happened they are just a bad product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terri-bad 10 May 2012

I grabbed three of these at the same time for automating lights at Christmas. The plugs arrived quickly and effeciently, no problems with the service. They are also quite easy to set-up with lots of options for timer settings for various day/time combinations. The LCD text is tiny though.

Having set them up and left them to do their thing all was well....for about 3 days. Then one of them stuck in the ON position well past the time the timer should have shut it of. Having checked, reset and assumed I'd messed up I reset the timer and tried again the next night. Same result. Then it was fine for a day, then it refused to come on.

The worst thing is a week later the other two, performed similar actions (and no...I didn't have it set to random!). Unfortunately they all ended up in the bin before Christmas, resorting instead to manual digit to light switch interfacing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Time Out 30 Sep 2011

Nice concept. Simple operation. But .... if the time clock keeps resetting every 3 or 4 days then its a waste of space ....

1.0 out of 5 stars Really disappointed 18 Dec 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
This failed for me on the first day of use. It reset itself at Midnight and deleted all the timer settings I had programmed into it. I knew this had happened as it was in my bedroom and at Midnight (when it should have switched on) there was a loud click from it from across the room and the LED hadn't switched on, nor had the phone charger. I checked it and the programmed settings were all gone.

What makes this annoying is that it's had quite good reviews on Amazon (the reason I bought it) and it actually says Timeguard on the sticky label on the back (although this is not on straight and looks like another label had been there before as there was a sticky residue). There's also a Timeguard instruction sheet with it and the box had a Timeguard label on it. I'm assuming this is genuine although not having had experience of Timeguard products before I'm not sure. To be honest though, I thought the thin, bendy plastic it was made of was a little suspect.

It seemed like a nice device, was easy to program and had an easily-read display.

Shame it doesn't work though - I've requested a return for refund and am waiting to hear from the Amazon merchant (Babz Media).

As it doesn't work I've given it 1 star.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fiddly but no ticking
I bought this as I had a traditional timeswitch that sounded almost like an egg timer. The interface is a bit fiddly but once it's set up it works just fine.

Having read others reviews of times witches I decided to pay a little more for these, they were certainly easy to set and have been functioning perfectly for some months.

After following the instructions and setting up the timer properly, it seems to have a mind of it's own and switches off randomly. I would not recommend.
