About the Author

Rysa Walker grew up on a cattle ranch in the South. Her options for entertainment were talking to cows and reading books. On the rare occasion that she gained control of the television, she watched Star Trek and imagined living in the future, on distant planets, or at least in a town big enough to have a stoplight. These days, when not writing, she teaches history and government in North Carolina, where she shares an office with her husband and a golden retriever named Lucy. She enjoys yoga, über-dark chocolate, Galaga, and Scrabble. She still doesn't get control of the TV very often, thanks to her sports-obsessed kids. Timebound is her debut novel.

Time travel fascinates me and this is an interesting perspective. The timelines are well managed and explained and whilst the story is interesting it just unfolds rather than grabbing hold of your total interest. Would I read part two? Yes I probably would to find out where the writer is taking the story, but perhaps this book's end lacks the normal end of a book that seems destined to lead to a part two. A really strong link to hold onto and desire to find out what happens next.

Wow, an amazing story. The author has obviously put a lot of thought into the characters and the way in which the story will go. The only reason I give this four stars instead of five is that there is very little disbelief presented when the main character is introduced to time travel. However, this is a small oversight at the beginning of the story with the character building and there could even be a reason for it. Overall, a very enjoyable read that keeps the reader going and I am looking forward to the obvious next instalment.

It,s not a book that is obvious what the end will be. I found it had me guessing what came next and I wished it had carried on.

I don't ordinarily gravitate towards time travel fantasies as I find there are too many opportunities for plot holes, which can really ruin the experience of reading a book. I bought Timebound on a Kindle recommendation and I was pleasantly surprised: it is something of an exception. Rysa Walker has written this novel very cleverly, so that the reader doesn't feel like any inconsistencies have to be ignored to enjoy the plot.

The storyline was more complex than I was expecting: Walker is not simply occupied with the novelty of time travel and weaves in an interesting subplot about a cult-like religion and this certainly made Timebound a more compelling read.

This is an enjoyable YA fantasy that, stylistically, reminds me more of Meg Cabot than Cassandra Clare (for readers looking for a reference point).

This series must be read in order. This is the first book.(It was originally released as Time's Twisted Arrow) This book is INCREDIBLY hard to review WITHOUT SPOILERS .... I tried :)

Kate has just moved (again) and she is starting a new school (again) where her father teaches. At least this school doesn't have metal detectors like the last one! Her parents are divorced and she splits time with them (and really appreciates the extra hour of sleep she gets at her dads place on campus) Though she wishes her dad's place was bigger and had an actual bed to sleep on! She is settling in fine until she gets a phone call from her grandmother to meet. She never has gotten to see much of her only living grandparent especially as her mother doesn't particularly like her mother. Her world is changing more rapidly than she could ever imagine. And in more ways then she ever thought possible. Will she be able to get to know her grandmother on a meaningful level? Will her grandmother's presence blow up her dysfunctional little family?

This book is a time bending romp of epic proportions! The intrigue and suspense alone would have made an awesome book :) Add science fiction and time travel including historical jaunts to famous places and events and the thrills and chills never stop! The mysterious issues of destiny and theseriesption of different timelines and you have a practically unsolvable convoluted mystery of amazing depth. The romance is a large part of the supporting story and lends much needed support to the main character. I was amazed and confused and on the edge of my seat the whole time I read this book and I can't wait to start the next one Time's Echo: A CHRONOS Files Novella (The CHRONOS Files)!

***This series is suitable for mature young adult through adult readers

This is an amazing book! A time-travel novel like no other I've ever read and I am astounded at the ability of the other to keep track of the different time zones and events and yet still keep the story rolling. And roll it does, gathering pace and drawing in the reader at every page. I admit I had to re-read the first couple of chapters to get a better sense of what was going on but once that was done the story made perfect sense to me(!!). I know little of American history but it appears that the author has done her research on this and she is more than just an accomplished writer but also an intelligent one too. I loved the characters, especially Kiernan...I await the next instalment with bated breath!
