Following the unprecedented indie success of a debut home made EP which sold over 50,000 copies, Scottish singer-songwriter Alexi Murdoch released his critically acclaimed debut album Time Without Consequence Stateside via his own label, Zero Summer Records, in 2006. Rolling Stone named him one of that year's ‘10 Artists to Watch’ while Interview lauded his "ability to directly communicate a wellspring of deep emotion," Alternative Press awarded the album 5 out of 5, and similar raves came in from many other publications. Songs from the album have subsequently been featured in films such as Gone Baby Gone and Garden State, as well as TV shows such as The O.C. The new Sam Mendes directed film ‘Away We Go’ represents the first instance where Murdoch is the primary musical voice of an entire film. Ahead of the release of that film and its soundtrack in September, Zero Summer and Nettwerk have teamed up to make Time Without Consequence available domestically in the UK for the first time. I first heard this guy on a soundtrack to a movie.
The movie was good but the soundtrack better.
Long after the memory of the movie faded the soundtrack remained.
Lingered.
The tone was mellow - melancholy songs sang behind a guitar.
Lovely lyrics, beautiful vocals led by electric/acoustic guitars - folksie.
So laid back - hitting the horizontal.
Simple yet complex - always beguiling.
Then I heard this guy again tonight and it was yesterday once more.
Listen to the songs.
Hear how they are for you.
For me they're haunting.
For me they're nostaglic.
Yearning.
Time without consequence - one mesmerising work - by the singer/songwriter - Alexi Murdoch.

Possibly one of the best albums i own. Saw him on Youtube and ordered this album from amazon. It arrived quickly and i'm pleased i bought it. Each track is a song you want to listen to and understand the meaning. I bought it for a couple songs and now i listen to the whole thing in the car... (it stops me speeding and driving like the crazed lunatic i am)

I came across Alexi Murdoch by accident after googling a song that I heard on a TV program. I down loaded the album Time Without Consequence on a whim, and I'm very glad I did. This guy is a very talented singer songwriter and the whole album is worth listening to over and over. Very soothing, mellow and full of intelligent insight. I would highly recommend this album.

I Love the album. I was not expecting anything less and my expectations were totally met! Great folk, mellow, dreamy kind of music. I highly recommend it.
