Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Michael Buble's assured debut and the tireless year of globe-trotting touring he spent promoting it elevated the 20-something Vancouver native into the first rank of pop crooner revivalists. His sophomore studio follow-up largely turns on the same formula that helped make his considerable vocal prowess so attractive to mainstream audiences, mixing the nigh flawless, if expected Sinatra-channelling ("I've Got You Under My Skin") with more playful and inviting renditions of pop standards like the Gershwin's "A Foggy Day in London Town," "Feeling Good," "Try A Little Tenderness" and Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin." But it's the eclectic mix of more contemporary material the singer seasons them with--apt tribute to Buble hero Bobby Darin--that keeps him walking the narrow tightrope between artistic intrigue (a blues-tinged vamp of Holland-Dozier-Holland's "How Sweet It Is," Leon Russell's lovely "Song For You," with a guest turn by Chris Botti) and the kitsch-laden abyss ("Quando, Quando, Quando"'s Euro-centric duet with Nelly Furtado, a ring-a-ding-fling with the Beatles' "Can't Buy Me Love" that echoes fellow Canadian crooner/rival Matt Dusk's more successful flirtation with Lennon-McCartney). Arranger/producer Tommy LiPuma offers Buble a welcome swinging jazz showcase on "The More I See of You," a bracing respite from the rest of producer David Foster's slick production. --Jerry McCulley

Album Description

On It's Time, young crooner Michael Buble delivers an album of love songs as powerful as chocolate and candlelight. From covers such as Ray Charles' "You Don't Know Me" to "Home," penned by Buble and Amy Foster-Gillies, the album is a romantic treat. Following the massive success of his previous self-titled album, Buble is set for even greater worldwide acclaim with It's Time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Incredible, 1 Feb 2005
This review is from: It'S Time (U.S. Version) (Audio CD)
Yep - everyone is cashing in... there are dozens of albums, with average artists filled with marketing hype. Michael Bublé is completely different. He's got the voice, with the tonality and the delivery... not a single other young singer has his phrasing ability... I've seen this kid live - and he is simply sensational... He draws influences from Elvis, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin and yes, Sinatra - BUT the sound he creates is uniquely his own, and the difference is you can hear his passion and enthusiasm in the music... This guy has studied and lived this music. He understands it, and you can hear that. Everything else being released by the monolithic deaf corporations pales in comparison. This is the one. And the mass market pop sensabilities are all there. It ain't rocket science... just listen...

This CD is a must for any serious music lover, Yes! it has covers, But Michael Bublé does each and every one of them justice, "Feeling Good" really moves you! it's sassy & is a terrific Driving track! his own hit song "Home" is a must for every Romantic or anyone who ever spent time away from thier loved ones!,"A Foggy Day" has you singing out loud!, his duet with Nelly Furtado (Quando Quando Quando)is a classic! as for "The More I see You"! he simply "owns" it like no one else ever has! and his version of "You and I" is so moving and performed with such feeling it'd be worth getting married again just to have this as The Wedding tune!......I've just been to see Mr Bublé perform Live at RCMH in NYC and can tell you! his Live performace is a MUST! he really rocks the house! if you buy only 1 CD this year! BUY THIS ONE!!.....

I originally went to see Michael Buble at the Blue Note in NY in may 2003 although I had never heard of him. He completely blew me away with his voice, style and charisma. I bought the original album from amazon on export before it's release here. It was a classic and I thought difficult to follow. Well, wow, he gets better and better. Forget the Cullum kid, he's not in the same class, this is brilliant. Check out the duet with Nelly Furtado (Quando, Quando, Quando) and the wonderful interpretation of Foggy Day in London Town. If he continues in this vein, he can really become the next Sinatra. Buy it, you won't get a better album this year.
