Product Description

The TV series Time to Remember was a benchmark in documentary-making. Originally produced in the 1960s, it touched on all aspects of life in the first half of the Twentieth Century using British Pathé’s unique blend of political, social, and cultural history. This revised BBC version re-interprets the material thematically in 12 episodes, while retaining the enduring charm of the original series and narration by celebrated actors, including Sir Michael Redgrave and Sir Ralph Richardson.

This DVD set also includes 2 episodes of the original British Pathé series produced by Peter Baylis.

Includes the following 12 episodes:
  • Pioneers of Aviation
  • Stage and Screen
  • Casualties of War
  • A Woman’s World
  • Pushing the Boundaries
  • The Royal Families
  • Nations at Play
  • The Pursuit of Peace
  • Crime and Prohibition
  • Civilians at War
  • The Need for Speed
  • In Times of Need

Total run time 402 minutes, 3 discs.

This is an extremely interesting potted version of all the most important events of last century, many famous voices and faces including European Monarchs that we have only read of in the history books. The achievements and engineering feats, all exciting, amusing and impossible to imagine the dangers in the advancement of science and motion and the thrills of the period. All three discs faacinating.
