SEATTLE LUMBERJACKS FOOTBALL, Book 5
Bestselling football romance series

The clock's ticking down, and the hearts of Estelle Harris and Lumberjacks quarterback Brett Gunnels are about to enter crunch time.

CRUNCH TIME

Supposedly undersized for the NFL, quarterback Brett Gunnels went off to do a stint in the U.S. Army right out of high school. Returning damaged yet stronger--and more determined than ever to prove himself--he was the last pick in the draft. Mr. Irrelevant, they called him. But he's a starter and a winner, no matter his past few years as a backup. Now he's going to prove it.

Estelle Harris is engaged to a man she doesn't love, working in the wrong job, and fooling everyone including herself in the process. Her love of animals is the only thing that gives her purpose. As she shares that love with the Lumberjacks' reclusive quarterback, and much, much more, it's only a matter of time until their friendship turns that final, hot corner. There'll be no going back. True love is like football. It's not always how long you have the ball. It's what you do when you get it.

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

Ms Davenport has a great flair for making the team of footballers come alive on the page. She does not overdo the mechanics of the game, but gives enough detail that even the ignorant will understand the importance of a play. I have read the previous books in the series, so was delighted to hear about old friends, but it could easily be read as a stand alone and still be a fantastic read. If you enjoy it though, you should definitely read the rest as they are excellent too.

I really enjoyed that this story was basically about two overlooked people, who find each other, and have such a bond that it makes their lives change for the better. It is one of our greatest hopes to find a kindred spirit, and here it is made clear that does not mean perfect, just perfect for you. There are some very funny scenes and some very sexy ones too.

This series is in my 'to be reread' collection, and each release is a guaranteed hit !

5.0 out of 5 stars New book boyfriend - yum! 1 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Time of Possession is the fifth book in Jami Davenport's Lumberjack's series and I loved it! It's the story of Brett and Estie a man who's a little bit vulnerable and damaged, and a woman who likes her control so much she may miss out on the love of her life.

As book boyfriends go, Brett has it all for me, pining away for a woman he thinks he can't have - love it!

Jami Davenport write sports romance so well, she clearly loves her football. Her books strike completely the right balance in my view, just enough detail that you know you're reading a sports romance, but not so much that you're at all bored. You're engaged in the action, sports scenes feeling the emotions and physicality of it, so good.

The romance and sex scenes are wonderfully written and hot! It's a lovely novel and I can't wait for her to write more books!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved the book! 12 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I have absolutely loved reading Brett and Estie's story! Having never read any of Jami's books before I went into this wondering if I needed to read any of the others but it was absolutely amazing as a stand alone!

First off I love Jami's writing style and really felt that she does an amazing job of introducing you to the characters in just enough detail to get you going! In this story we meet up and coming football star Brett Gunnels who appears to have a boat load of baggage and is in need of being fixed. Into his life walks Estie, the sister of one of his teammates (the football Captain) who is injured and whom Brett replaces on the team.

I love the developing relationship between Brett and Estie along with the tension of the need for Brett to succeed on the football field. It adds tension to the story as well as a different dimension that you become dragged into as well! His success on the team is equally as important in may ways to his overcoming his PTSD as his developing love for Estie. I loved how he plays hard bot falls in love harder and is determined to have Estie at any cost.

You also get a sense of him being the underdog who likes to fight back and you need to read the book to see what I mean!

Estie was a really refreshing book girlfriend for want of a better word! She isn't broken or damaged but just has a skewed way of looking at and leading life. You are made aware she likes order and possibly had OCD but she is also a really kind hearted and loving person and I really took to her. Some of her decisions were frustrating at times but being able to see her develops a person as the book went on was really sweet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Touchdown 1 July 2014
By Elizabeth Clinton - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This is book five in Jami's LumberJack series and another winner. This is the story of Brett the second String Quarterback thrown into the big game due to the injury by the first string and Estelle who happens to be the sister of the Quarterback who is engaged to man who she really does not love but is only a crutch who fits into her life plan. There love of animals has them coming together and you are rooting for the two of them from page one. Their relationship is definitely an emotional one filled with some angst but you want to see there HEA. If you are looking for a book that will make you feel good this definitely the one you want to pick up and definitely a series you will want to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sports themed romance! 1 July 2014
By J. Sapa - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Time of Possession is the fifth book in Jami Davenport's Seattle Lumberjacks series. Each book can be read as a stand alone book.

In Time of Possession, Brett Gunnels gets a chance to prove himself as a quarterback when the Seattle Lumberjacks starting quarterback Tyler gets injured during a game. Brett meets Tyler's sister Estelle Harris who loves animals just as much as he does.

***Possible Spoilers***

Brett and Estelle start out as friends...which is good since she is engaged to another man. Time of Possession contains a lot of drama, sports, and a bumpy road to a HEA. I really liked the character of Brett. He was a great hero who loved Estelle from the beginning, which says a lot because for me Estelle was hard to love. I never quite understood why she was willing to settle for her boring fiancee. Luckily she did come to her senses at the end. I did love how Brett reunited with his father, best scene in the book. I loved the recurring theme of family, loved all the sports scenes. Definitely recommend this story.

And I really cannot sign off this review without mentioning the menagerie of animals that Brett and Estie seemed to have amassed between them. In fact it is their love of the said animals that crated the spark between them. Brett and his faithful pooch have such sad stories and you heart will break listening to them both! And Bongo - you go down in history as being the most hilarious parrot EVER!

I highly recommend you read this book, for the amazing story and for the language that comes out of Bongo's beak!

Five breathtaking stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Win for the Lumberjacks! 1 July 2014
By Emily - Published on Amazon.com

Jami has scored another touchdown with this book!

Everyone is devastated when star quarterback, Tyler Harris, is injured just shy of the playoffs. Everyone was counting on Harris to lead them to victory. What they didn't expect was for their backup Brett Gunnels to have take the reins.

Estie loves control, and she won't settle for anything less, even when she knows there's something better for her. Little does she know that an animal love quarterback is about to crash through her defenses.

What I loved about this book more than anything is that Brett isn't your typical hero. In so many books we see confident, cocky, alpha heroes who take charge and go for it. Brett eases into his role in the spotlight, and he is like nothing we've seen. If you love the Lumberjacks, you're going to fall in love with this story too. Get ready for some laughs, a couple of tears, and a foul mouth parrot who could rival Tyler Harris.
