This is the third guide i buy from the Time out series of guides, and it has proven to be once more the best choice. I planned everything according to the suggestions given, and it turned out to be an easy and fun vacation. I even choose the restaurants i ate in by this book, and i was suprised to see that it was correct in the matter of food, prices, timing to get there. It is certainly a very good guide, you only have to read it before the trip so you know exactly what plans you need to make. If you are bored and do not want to spend time reading beforehand, it is again very helpful since it has maps for everything, useful vocabulary, even suggestion for a two day trip to Rome like the guided tours have. So you can read as you go. I would suggest it without hesitation.

A delight for old Rome hands

I have been to Rome a number of times, so I find the Time Out book helpful with details on various neighborhoods and sites written by people who clearly know and love art and architecture. And bravo for pulling together the walking tour of Caravaggio's masterpieces. I've spent hours with other guide books and maps figuring out what they've summarized in a page. The maps are excellent with clear indications of locations of recommended hotels, cafes and restaurants.
But given how much there is to see, if I had never been to Rome before, I might have trouble figuring out where I really wanted to go given the way the book is organized. The only guidance is a short "Rome in 48 Hours" summary in the front.

This collection of time out is my favorite guide for any new city I might visit , I find the book easy and very beneficial , may be it just needs more hotels to be listed as most hotels mentioned are extremely expensive.
