One good practical benefit of this guide to Mumbai and Goa is it's size. It will fit neatly in coat pockets, small shoulder bags and handbags.
Other good points about this guide are :
* easily readable map of the rail network in Mumbai
* 8 pages of maps of Mumbai
* interesting and useful section on bars and pubs in Mumbai
* good selection of photographs of Mumbai and Goa.
Particularly enjoyed the section which gives information on the suburbs of Mumbai. For me as a keen traveller, I am generally more attracted to, and interested in the suburbs and residential areas of a city. Wandering around the suburbs and residential areas of any city quite often is more revealing and educational to an open-minded traveller than simply hanging around the central area of a city visiting museums. art galleries etc.
A handy little guide.

Very good and thorough information on Mumbai. Could have a little more detail with Goa though.

Couldn't believe this guide. Have followed many Time Out guides and was never disappointed but somehow this author doesn't seem to get to grips with it at all. OK, yes there are listings and listings... but it is written in a very dry style and certainly could have done with a 'female touch' here and there.... this guy doesn't like shopping and seems to have very little imagination of what a tourist to Mumbai wants. Where is the soul of the city? Too well hidden. Come on, Time Out can do so much better than this.

Very useful little book
Packed with interesting historical information and really handy maps, this book is small enough to carry around. Best Mumbai guide I've found to date.

quite useful alternative to lonely planet
It's not better than the lonely planet guide but it does have a lot of different recommendations, making it quite a useful additional guide for an alternative perspective
