Fortunate to have got this as a present before going. I found everything it said to be accurate. All comments and judgements were perceptive. The maps are well co-ordinated. (My only gripe is that the numbers of the U- and S-Bahn lines on the public transport map are hard to read, but the same is true even for the official stuff.)

I chose this particular guide book for my trip to Berlin because of positive reviews, and I'm glad I did. It's a comprehensive guide to all the varied and wonderful Berlin sights. I found obscure places I wanted to go through this book, it even told me which bus to catch!. Excellent.

When we arrived in Berlin, the railway map shown in this guide showed a line from the airport which either had changed or was wrong, and the station nearest our hotel had a different name from that shown on the map. The information shown about making arrangements to visit the Reichstag was wrong, so we missed that entirely, and directions for how to get to the Gemaldegalerie (and I was not impressed by the description of the contents) were inadequate so we got lost. No doubt most of the book is accurate and helpful, but I would not recommend it as a reliable guide.

Spot on guide to Berlin
Time Out guides are always good value. Good informative reviews and regularly updated, I would recommend this book to anyone planning a trip to Berlin

Good and informative
A good and informative guide which I found very useful, although I did find a couple of grid references to be incorrect on the map section.

Maybe I'm Stupid
... but I'm giving this 1 star as the maps aren't clear and I had no idea how to work out the public transport system using this guide. Read more

Not so good for nightlife

Frustratingly complicated and rude comments
The index gives every page number which refers to whatever you've looked up without indicating which page has the main information. You therefore have to look up each page. Read more

Poor recommendations
I stayed in a hotel recommended by the guide. It turned out to be a nightmare experience, with noisy music from the club below, rude service and unfair cancellation terms.
