Product Description

Rush s Time Machine shows in 2010 / 11 were one of the most anticipated tours ever. Celebrating 30 years since the 1981 release of their classic bestselling album Moving Pictures the band performed the entire album live for the first time as the centrepiece of the concerts. The shows also featured favourite tracks from across their lengthy career and two new songs expected to feature on their next studio album. As ever the concerts were a visual feast and sounded great with the band playing at the top of their form. Reviews for the tour have been amazing from both fans and critics alike and this Blu-ray release is guaranteed to appeal to Rush fans everywhere. Bonus Features Alternative ending for The Real History Of Rush: Episode 2 ; Outtakes from History Of Rush: Episodes 2 & 17 ; Outtakes from I Still Love You Man ; Live from Laura Secord Secondary School (full clip from BLTS); Live from Passaic, NJ (full clip from BLTS).

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes, but sometimes people love cr-p 11 Nov 2011
Format:DVD
When I read all the negative reviews, I thought what a bunch of moaners. And then I put my DVD into the player. I got no sound either and was about to launch it out the window like my Test For Echo CD/Frisbee until I realized I had to change the audio settings ... and then all was well.

I then sat back and heard the perfect audio accompany the less than perfect visual. So this is what they meant about it being hazy/fuzzy/whatever. I must confess that it isn't HD, but was it supposed to be? It reminds me of '80s concerts that have been transferred from VHS to DVD and that is its charm. Even the intro video has an auditorium sound to it (all be it an empty one).

Time Machine has a 'being there' feel about it and yes its not perfect and yes although the camera angles are creative they do switch too much. But its warm and welcoming like a pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord at your local pub. Its not as clinical as S&A, nor badly mixed as R30: a bit like the 3 bears porridge; one was too hot, one was too cold, but this is one is just right.

So for those of you that still think its poor quality, just pretend you're down the front at the gig, watching the show through a haze of sweet smelling concert smoke, whilst clutching your over-priced t-shirt and already creased program. Because it is more than just a concert, it is a show ... and a mighty fine one at that!

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing concert by Rush! 26 Nov 2011

Format:Blu-ray
Hello everyone!

I'm sorry to disagree with some of the review written about this blu-ray concert, but this is an absolute must for any Rush fan!
The band performs very well, with a lot of enthusiasm and creativity, and the audio quality is astonishing (the video quality is good, but between music lovers- it doesn't matter at all, the audio quality counts!!!).

Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Time Machine Tour 8 Dec 2011
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Very good concert film of rock band Rush's Time Machine Tour film in Cleveland.

In just under 3 hours in length the concert film is excellent value for money and the music obviously is fantastic.

Looking at other reviews I seem to have received a copy without the audio or visual issues raised by other reviewers. I do know that on Rush's official website early copies of the DVD were being recalled for this reason.

Besides the concert the outtakes and bloopers of the minifilms in the concert are hilarious, but when compared with previous releases such as Snakes and Arrows DVD the features are lacking in quantity.

But I do like this DVD and is a must watch for any fan of Rush.

5.0 out of 5 stars well crafted concert dvd 31 Dec 2011
By martino
Format:Blu-ray
I don't agree with previous reviewers that criticise Geddy's voice; it's mellowed and matured but not in a bad way in my view. Sound quality is FAB- surround sound at full volume for a truly trouser shaking experience is recommended with excellent clarity retained. What I particularly like about this dvd is the overall concert experience that the directors have attempted, and succeeded, in achieving through a wide range of camera views (I particularly liked the view from the far corner of the balcony; can't say I would have been so thrilled if it had been my seat though...) and different textures in the film so you feel like you're never quite seeing the same thing twice. I think taking this approach was a wise move to avoid a "same old, same old" feel when comparing with previous dvd's. I have to say it's a joy to see the somewhat more responsive crowd in Cleveland than European audiences, though that's from the point of view of someone who finds himself incapable of standing still at a concert. Only gripes would be lack of extras but then again, I'm not sure there are that many up Rush's sleeve anymore to merit it rather than just being for the sake of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Picture issues but...... 10 Nov 2011
Format:Blu-ray
This is still a great DVD of a fantastic concert. Its nearly 3 hours long AND ITS RUSH!!!
I was unfortunately away on holiday when they toured England and I have been waiting since then to see the concert and it is well worth the wait.Because of others comments regarding the quality of the blu-ray quality i was distracted at first (and it is true the quality at times is very poor and downright diappointing at some points not a patch on S & A) but once I got past that I didn't pay it much heed. There are some great camera angles ,even some from 'within' the crowd.
However,I cannot agree with others comments regarding the band not being 'together',geddy's vocals not being as good as usual etc etc.Total nonsense. They sound as good as ever and some of the highlights were the songs that they have either not played live before or haven't played for some time.Vital Signs,Leave that thing alone and Presto come across very well as did new track B2UB which I think will become a live favourite. But the real standout track for me was Camera Eye,absolutely stunning!
I don't know how long these guys can go on for but they show no signs of their technical prowess waining,in fact just the opposite they seem to get better and better.
The light show was also brilliant. They should also finish every show with Working Man,just a great rocking track with a serious jam segment witn Alex even adopting a macho guitarist pose, something I thought I would never see.
I loved the intro video they seem to love taking the mickey out of them selves.
Finally, was it my eyes or did some camera shots make Neil look really fat? Oh well happens to us all ad he's still the best drummer in the world.
Dont be put off buying this just because the picture isnt as good as it could be..the sound is great and the boys are on top form.
