This raises the bar for modern thrash! Havok have a stunning ability to take standard late 80's thrash ( Onslaught, Exodus, Testament, etc ) and spice it up with some modern riffs and licks, just enough to bring it up to date without making it sound like one of the more modern genres. I was a spotty little, 16 year old thrasher back in the late 80's so I know what I like, listening to these lads playing just took me back to the days of huge trainers, drainpipe jeans so tight you thought you'd never have kids and the knowledge that you knew you'd found something truly special.

If you like the giants, Megadeth, Exodus, Testament, Slayer, then give this ago, you will not regret it.

Just hope these boys can get themselves on some big tours and get over to Europe, they would blow all the other retro-thrasher wannabes clear off the stage!

this album is proper awesome; every track is a thrash winner. similar to early exodus and metallica kill em all in places; there's one song in particular totally rips a riff from kill em all but its still great stuff.

First track i heard from this album is the opening track, 'Prepare for Attack' and it had me interested within the first minute. Personally as i drummer i find this album absolutely incredible, Pete Webbers work here is outstanding mixing the tradition thrash beats while need being afraid to explore some stuff you could imagine Aquiles Priester doing. The album has some suprisingly memorable riffs and progression, Its almost as if Slayer, Megadeth and Metallica merged into one band with young bodies. For those a fan of thrash metal this can't not be on your shelf.
