A story this well written cannot be forgotten. It tells of the struggles that many face every day as we attempt to hold on to the ones that mean more to us than anything...our friends. Many times throughout the book i was brought to tears by the grace and poise with which it was written. A truly memorable book that i suggest to anyone, especially those who have dealt with the many hardships as well as joys that are are found through a close friendship.

There's no words to describe it...... I love this book! I'm 13 going on 14 and My best friend and I both bought this book! It is the most touching book that I have read so far! I laughed and I cried! BUT I mostly cried. Davida Wills Hurwin is a wonderful authour. She composed the main characters Samantha a.k.a Sam and Julianna a.k.a Jules beautifuly. The reader gets to be so involved in their lives that it's like your in the book too! If you like this book U should also try reading "Sharing Sam". I forget the author, but it's a good book about two best friends and ones dying of cancer! I must warn you however that it won't compare to A Time For Dancing!!!!!

I brought this because I liked the film adaptation of it. The book is quite different from the film but this isn't a bad thing. It was well written and I liked having the story from both points of view. I really enjoyed the friendship between Jules and Sam - it felt realistic. Davida Wills Hurwin did a great job in creating these characters and gave them unique voices - it was easy to tell who was speaking without having to check each chapter heading. The story has been done before but the characters and relationships makes this one stand out - Jules has a great relationship with her parents and I loved how Sam acted with her family too. The scenes towards the end of the book are very touching - between Jules and Sam and between Sam and Jule's parents. I would really like to read the sequel 'The Farther You Run.

I think this would appeal to people who have enjoyed 'Before I die' or books by Lurlene McDaniel. The beginning and ending were really good but I felt it lost momentum a bit in the middle - otherwise I would easily have given it 4 stars.

The story of Sam and Jules, and their shared struggles through Jules' cancer, really touches the heart. The novel was written in a way that you can feel their hardships, feel Jules' pain, and can't help seeing Sam's frustration. This was the best book about friendships, even until the end.

A Time for Dancing was so wonderful, I could not stop crying even after I finished, this book touched my heart not like any other has. I felt that I knew both girls and had a connection with them since I too take ballet and the strange thing is one of my dance teachers name is Linda and I have a good friend named Julie. This was a very hard book to read in the fact that you knew what was going to happen, but when and how it was going to end. I think Davida Wills Hurwin is one of the best authors I've read, thank you for writing and publishing this book, it truely was amazing and inspirational...I'm looking forward to sequal....I hope it is as good as this one.....I would totally thing everyone should read this book, it should be a novel for english classes everywhere...all I can say is WOW!!!!!

Reading this story makes you understand about friendships and how special they are. Sam and Jules (Best Friends) have to cope with Jules getting cancer and Sam has to deal with Jules not wanting to know her. Both of these girls' stories tie up with eachother and make one. If you like books with mystery, hope, some romance, and true life, then this book is for you. I think that anyone who loves friendship stories will love this book, it's just the greatest. It is my favorite book of all time and I have reccommended it to all my friends and they loved it too. This author has a great sense of taste for writing and I hope that she will write another wonderful novel. :)

This book is the most beautiful story that I personally have ever read. It shows the major feeling about how the best friends felt about this. I think that Julie had a hard time getting through this but she acted as though any other person would have. I think that for Samantha it was especially hard knowing that your best friend could die.Samantha was a big influence on Julie and got her through most of her pain. ( Even though Julie was always upset with her in some way.) I think that Samantha and Julie will always be best friends even with Julie in heaven. Question: When will the sequal come out for A Time For Dancing?
