3.0 out of 5 stars Inimitable style 18 Feb 2004
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Written 'as live' this book gives a useful insight into an important and very useful set of tools. Personally, I find Richard's style works better face to face - taking part in one of his seminars or listening to him on CD or watching him on Video. It doesn't work so well for me in written form - other authors do books better. But that probably reflects the nature of NLP - it is best learned experientially. Reading NLP is a bit like reading sex - a pretty poor substitute for the real thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magical 11 Mar 2002
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This book is fantastic... it is extremely easy to read, understand and even use... He has written it in the way he teaches. It is a lot of fun to read, things that i used to find confusing suddenly become clear... didn't it? A must buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Wizard at Work 21 Jun 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I used to be wary of NLP (neuro linguistic programming)and thought it was a dangerous route towards manipulating others. However, a year or so ago I realised this was more a comment on my own character than an inherent problem with the tools and techniques themselves. And so I have since read all of Richard Bandler's books learning a fantastic amount and thoroughly enjoying his humorous and ingenious style of writing. However, there is a lot of repetition throughout his books and so if you are going to read just one then I would recommend this book because it is better organised and less prone to rambling than others. The fun starts when the first chapter is titled 'Induction' rather than 'Introduction' and you quickly realise that what appears like gibberish is a very clever hypnotic communication that is designed to bypass your conscious mind and open up the expanded possibilities of unconscious learning. This is what Bandler means when he says 'you can learn even more from this book than what it is about'. So when you get confused by this book's contents, don't be tempted to analyse it too much or take it too seriously; just enjoy the ride!
