what an amazing album..!!!!!!! every song is so chilled out and laid back, i never tire of listening to thos album and it holds many a special memory for me...

Uninspired

I was a huge early fan of Soul II Soul, but this album overall is slow, monotonous, uninspired, and mostly undanceable. The mellow vocals and vocal harmonies are good. For collectors only.
"Represent" (also released as a single) is the best track here, with a bass-driven dance groove (mid-slow).
"Pleasure Dome" is a midtempo dance groove. A bit flat moodwise, but some nice classic-soul touches.
"I Feel Love" is the only uptempo track, with positive lyrics, danceable.
"Get Away" slow dance with a throw-away guitar solo.
"Time for Change", the title cut, is midtempo with some Jazzie rap.
"Dare to Offer" has a weird chamber-music-vocal intro, followed by drum-n-bass with Jazzie speechifying.
"Thank You" is a slow low-energy snoozer, maybe OK as background music.
"Love Ain't Around" is a slow repetitive ballad with orchestrated strings and Will-Downing-style vocals.
The tracks "Limit Is The Sky" and "Bonus Song" are garage-influenced forgettable fare.
"Camdino Soul" is chillout with deep bass, OK for background music.
The front cover art portrays white faces exclusively with angry/aggressive expressions, while the faces of color look either victimized or happy. The album wasn't received well critically or commercially. Maybe Jazzie lost that lovin' feeling.

This album wasn't big in the U.S., but it is one of their best. I find myself listening to it over and over. Check out "Dare to Differ"... that track is great! If you love Soul II Soul you'll love this album.
