Ive seen this movie a couple of times. The other two reviews mostly deals with the plot, well I talk about the set.
Starting in the victorian era ending there too, this story is partly made up from the book (recommendable) "Time after time" by H.G.Wells. Many of the features such as the clothes and funiture, the spoken language etc, are so trustworthy made, that you are sure that this is the time. The time machine it self is much inspired by the Nautilus, from 20.000 leegs under the sea, made by nitting, yet highly (from this era) advanced equipment usage. The desk on the mashine, which is the source of power transforms sunlight into useable energy. One of the great effects of the movie, the time travel (which easely could be used for theater performance), find you travelling through time where you hear different radio broadcasts changing by decade. This has, I guess been very difficult, both to write which broadcast should be sellected for each time, and at the same to uptane them. After watching the film, you sure wounder a lot about time travelling, and maybe change your point of view of this matter. Hopefully a version in PAL will be released some times. Compared with "Back to the future", this film is much more serious and dramaticly. Gives a clue on the last days of Jack the Ripper !!
