Product Description
When Mike (Josh Randal) and his girlfriend Sheryl (Brianna Brown) escape city life and stake their tent in the rugged, wooded mountains of West Virginia, the worst they expect are a few mosquitoes. Suddenly Sheryl vanishes. There is no sign of her. Mike frantically heads off into the woods to find her and stumbles across the secluded cabin of a God-fearing woman who offers to help. The next thing he's out cold and waking up in a dingy cellar. Sheryl lies on the table next to him, gagged with her arms and legs bound to the corners. Candles and crucifix line to the walls around them. A devoted priest stands above them. God has something evil planned...

Synopsis
A couple (Josh Randall and Brianna Brown) hikes through the picturesque woods of West Virginia, but their trip becomes a disaster when one of them disappears. The other person soon realizes that the forest's quiet beauty masks a hidden evil in this horror film.

3.0 out of 5 stars Underwhelming old-fashioned horror flick, 26 Oct 2008
By D. Jackson "DJ" (UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)

Timber Falls is a reasonably entertaining throwback to 1970s/80s exploitation cinema. It tells the story of an American couple, Mike and Sheryl, who leave their busy city lives and go for a weekend camping trip to 'get away from it all'. Soon enough, they run into a family of crazy Christians who want to have a baby, but are incapable... Therefore, you can almost guess what Mike and Sheryl have to go through for the next hour.

Apart from the whole 'crazy Christian' theme, Timber Falls is basically another remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There's the guy with the facial skin disease; the psychotic sheriff; the underground torture scenes etc. This is what Timber Falls suffers from most: Unoriginality. Also, one of the film's main flaws is that it makes us sit through a lengthy 100 minutes of something that, ultimately, isn't very interesting.

That said, Timber Falls is a surprisingly watchable Friday-night horror flick. Director of Chaos -Tony Giglio- is very capable of engaging his audience and making sure we don't get bored. Also, Josh Randall and Brianna Brown each give reasonably impressive performances in playing the main couple. The cover art and the first 5 minutes suggested promise, but Timber Falls falls short of expectations. Watch it if you must, but there are admittedly better choices you could make.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Effort, 17 April 2009
By T. Dungavel "UFOGEEK" (UK) - See all my reviews

Yeah, OK, you know this is not going to be the most origional film ever when even it's cover describes it as two other films of it's genre. That said, I've seen a thousand rubbish horror films, this is rubbish, but it's a better class of rubbish. The acting is first rate, apart from the deformed scythe wielding psycho, who was about as scary as one of those cheap rubber Halloween masks for children. It rips off every current torture horror film going, but despite everything against it, it's beautifully shot, and is watchable right up to it's stupid cliched ending. Effort has been put into this film, so it's worth purchasing if you can get it in the bargain bin.

2.0 out of 5 stars TRY ROVDYR FROM NORWAY !!!!, 3 April 2009
By Jason Thorne (England / Oxford) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
This again is a very average horror film that had the old fashion 70's / 80's feel to it but it wasn't that good. It was around about the 100 minute mark which did drag which isn't a good sign. The film had the Texas ChainSaw approach with some under ground torture scenes like Hostel but overall nothing we haven't already seen done better. I have heard that a film called Manhunt or Rovdyr which is subtitled from Norway is out which is this film but alot better with more tension and some brutal killings.
