Product Description

Irish hospitality is world-renowned and can be sampled at its best in the traditional pub. Found in tiny villages, market towns, and bustling cities, each pub is unique and reflects the community it serves. Pubs come in all shapes and sizes – from tiny thatched buildings nestled in the hills, to splendid Victorian buildings with wood paneling and stained glass. Whatever its size or location, the pub is the place where everyone, locals and visitors alike, can meet, relax, share a joke or two, and sample the local beverages.

As Well as being the hub of their communities, pubs in Ireland increasingly reflect the best of Irish cooking. This has been transformed in recent years as skillful local cooks, inspired by the wealth of the wonderful local produce, have created delicious new dishes and given new twists to favorite classics.

The collection in this app contains both traditional and contemporary recipes and will enable you to cook up a truly Irish feast at home.

1.0 out of 5 stars Few recipes, lots of advertising! 17 Mar 2014

Disappointed in this app. It had about a dozen recipes, but plenty of boxes when you opened them, gave you the opportunity to buy a book, etc. Not what I was expecting at all! Was hoping for some new, authentic Irish recipes, but I found nothing new at al.

5.0 out of 5 stars Irish pub recipes 11 Feb 2014

The first thing to say is that this is much, much more. The pub is a small feature but with 11 other apps within this it covers a huge range and that really does tell the tale!
There is a lovely picture of a pint of Guinness (of course!) And a bowl if irish stew(?) With soda bread (?) At the side. Also written upon the page is is Irish pub recipes so it is unmistakable and I would say not to be missed.
If it was just the opening welcome and the few recipes in each section I would give the 3 or 4 star recommendation despite the atmospheric photography and the much sought after irish stew, colcannon and boxty, not to mention the meat and seafood recipes! (And more).
I have to try that Guiness cake and that Christmas pudding too!
There is a quirky cocktail section which naturally includes the black velvet and the wonderful irish coffee but carry on......
The links are where you meet and greet the people of Ireland for this website includes their own recipes and there are more recipes than you can shake a stick at! It is a real treat!
There is a site where irish food meets the other cultures and these recipes are listed too which is so apt.
There are Real Irish recipes to look at, the Facebook Irish recipes and videos all over too! A section on Irish pubs in America shows wonderful photographs and also features "Today's Irish Spotlight" which is a wonderful way to get into the atmosphere of it all.
Regardless of the initial scarcity of content I found it was merely an introduction to the world of Irish food, many old family recipes and those including the fusion of food that living in another country makes quite natural, are part of this.
The Irish central does not work for me but the huge range, the gorgeous photo gallery and the ease of use has more than made up for that.
It works easily on my kindle fire hd 7inch and this is in a poor reception area. This app is another one for my recipe treasury.

There's a couple of recipes in here. Honestly, I'd have been time ahead just to use Google and get on with it. Not everything needs an app sadly. Though everyone needs a Guinness!
