The album features 15 tracks, roughly 66 minutes of music. A generous helping from Tim. What makes this album special and separate from his past albums, is Tim recorded this album with his road band, the Dancehall Doctors. It gives it a more authentic sound, bringing a special sound to the songs. The Dancehall Doctors includes David Dunkley, Dean Brown, Bob Minner, John Marcus, Jeff McMahon, Denny Hemingson, Billy Mason, and Darran Smith.
There was a bit of controversy surrounding the albums first single "Red Ragtop", a song about abortion. I think it has a meaningful message about life, if you really listen to the honesty and integrity of the lyrics. His second single is the song "She's My Kind of Rain", which is a favorite of mine on here. Tim even manages to do a cover of Elton John's "Tiny Dancer", and does it justice!
There's a bit of everything here for McGraw fans. Some uptempo country (Home, Sleep Tonight, Illegal, etc), and some really nice ballads we've come to expect (Watch The Wind Blow By, I Know How To Love You Well, etc).
This is Tim's strongest effort yet. It is probably his most country sounding effort to date. The magic he has with his band is very apparant when listening to this CD, it sounds like they had a great deal of fun in the studio cutting this album. This transpires to good music overall, and once again Tim does not disapoint. This is definately worth picking up!
