I bought this on the strength of wanting to have a recording of the two piano pieces and it is just wonderful, the elegaic pieces are deeply moving and the funny songs are delightful.

Elfman has very much returned to the song writing style he used on A Nightmare Before Christmas with Corpse Bride's songs, and on one track - Tears to Shreds - matches it so closely it's hard to tell them apart.
However, as a huge fan of Elfman's work on Nightmare and his other Burton projects I can forgive a little familiarity to be allowed to return to his magical world once more.
Recommended, but don't expect any new ground to be broken.

Arrived on time with some minor damage in transit to the case. No complaints here though, they couldn't have helped it and for me it was all about the CD inside. Read more
