What can I say about Alexander Shulgin. An eloquent, intelligent, and empathic personality breaking new ground in a controversial area often considered radical.
Shulgin is a regular Marco Polo of the psychopharmacological world and his contribution cannot be overestimated.

He refuses to be intimidated by drug hysteria and challenges all to bring their argument against drugs to the table for intelligent debate and open discussion.

Read this book before you make any decisions on the drug issue.

This will challenge anybody from the anti-drug fraternity.

This book gives me a glimmer of hope in a world of continually eroding personal freedoms.

Format:Paperback
This is the second book by the Shulgins which mix their autobiographies with the subjective effects of new and well-studied psychadelic drugs. It lies on the cusp between top-level synthetic chemistry and guru-level self development, and is amust for anyone interested in self development or recreational drug usage. Highly recommended, but it would make more sense if one reads PIHKAL first.

PIHKAL part two 30 Aug 2010
Format:Paperback
The second part of the Shulgin's auto-biographical chemical record is, indeed, the continuation. My personal affinity has always been more for the Tryptamines than the Phenethylamines of their first work so I found this part even more engaging. The style and substance is much the same as PIHKAL and it would make most sense to readers who have read that first. However, this work contains the same simple, supportive approach to personal development and the same wonder filled but painstakingly accurate approach to science which made PIHKAL such an engaging read.

If you are serious about becoming the person you know deep down inside that you could be then this book offers you the means to realise that dream. All you have to supply is the required effort.
