This is a fascinating book about Johnny Freeborn who was one of the Few and flew with some of the most famous RAF aces of WW2. It gives an insight into many of these aces and generally John has a bad word for most of them, as he managed to lock horns with them many times, from a confrontation with "Sailor" Malan over the "Battle of Barking Creek" at the start of the war to a fall out with his C.O. "Prosser" Hanks at the end of the war.
None the less John was a real Hero and certainly did more than his share
in fighting for freedom
