As composer and singer Merchant explains, “Leave Your Sleep was a ... Read more in Amazon's Natalie Merchant Store

I have the original version of this CD from 1995 and have always been very impressed with it. It is one of the CDs that I use when demoing new hi-fi equipment.

I have Mobile Fidelity CDs from the 90s, which are fantastic, but thought I would give this a try to see just how much better it might be.

While I am partial to SACDs for overall clarity and the feeling of space you get, this CD really shows how incredible a well-mastered and pressed red book CD can sound.

For fans of the album, or of Natalie Merchant, I would say it is a must have. But then again, for fans of good music it is a must have too!

the reason this disc is so expensive is because it has Mobile Fidelity's heralded GAIN 2 mastering technique. This remastered disc is the gold standard.

Tigerlily is by far one of the most perfect albums. There are very few albums where you like every song. Tigerlily is an incredible debut for the very talented Ms Merchant's solo career. She proves her lyric and songwriting ability, and then some. You can't just listen to her songs, you have to read the lyrics and listen to how she constructs the songs. She's amazing and I can't wait for a new CD from her.

Buy the original cd 9 May 2010

Buy the original cd. Usually the Mobil Fidelity cd's sound AMAZING, but NOT this one. Not sure what happened here, but the noise floor is much higher and it really does not sound any better than the original. Really shocking!

Some of the finest songs ever written in stunning performances. And she's still out there touring and recording. Beautifully remastered by Mobile Fidelity.
Excellent Release 20 Sep 2013

Tigerlily has always been my "go to" CD for demo. All Natalie Merchant's CD's sound better than the vast majority of modern music CDs IMHO. I may be in the minority but I think this version sounds slightly better than the original CD. I don't always feel that way for every Mobile Fidelity release. I always felt that the original disc was excellent but that Natalie's vocals sounded slightly less focused and "fleshed out" as this version. It may be just the way it sounds on my system but I can actually visualize her in front of her band in 3 dimensional space better on the Mofi. Both versions sound great and you can't go wrong with either. The sonic difference is slight but noticeable for me.
