Product Description

Product Description

Tim Rosaforte has followed Tiger Wood's career from the very beginning, getting closer to understanding him. In this biography he assesses the man behind the success. He reveals how Tiger reinvented himself, as a player and a person, following his comparative slump after his first Major in 1997. By the end of 2000, he had completed a Grand Slam of Majors and his dominance of the world golfing scene was complete, with many acclaiming him the greatest player of all time. He was still just 24.

About the Author

Tim Rosaforte is a Senior Writer for GOLF WORLD magazine and for SPORTS ILLUSTRATED. He is a frequent contributor to the Golf Channel and is a former president of the Golf Writers' Association of America. He lives in Florida with his wife and family.

This book is unique in that it gives a concise insight into Tiger Woods and the incredible 2000/01 golf year which saw him capture all four Major Championships. It is concise yet it does not spend pages dealing with nonsense and hearsay, but instead just deals with facts and quotes. Written in this way is refreshing and makes for interesting and fascinating reading. Yes, I am a golf fan, but even having watched this incredible young man win those tournaments, I still felt a shiver down my spine whilst reliving them in this book.
From his last amateur Championship through to The Masters in 2001, most of his tournaments are covered and not just the wins. The losses are explained as well.
This is simply a must have not just for golf fans but sports fans everywhere. We should all be thankful that we have witnessed such a sporting feat; I for one never thought it was possible.

I am a golf fan, but i felt the biography of Tiger was too forgiving.

His father (the single greatest influence in his life), makes pronouncements comparing the man to Gandhi, but these are glossed over. The golf scenes are well written and ultimately save the book.

The book would have benefited from an approach that wasn't too "news clippings" based and it would have been nice to have had a contribution from the man himself.
