5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read Aloud Story, 10 Oct 2006
By Hannah Chilton (Australia) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
A great story with plenty of scope for a fun read-aloud session with your little ones ... love all the captions about a kitten who would like to be a tiger, especially the one about 'not playing with wool'. As a veteran story teller I know many of you will agree that the more we enjoy reading a book to our children, the more they will enjoy listening, so great importance lies with whether we love the story or not and this one has been read hundreds of times and I'm still not bored with it. Another book for keeps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short and very sweet bedtime book, 13 July 2009
By Mum of Two (Cheshire) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tiger (Paperback)
This book is perfect for nights when the kids are really tired, but still want to hear a story before bed. We read it really slowly, word by word, and it has the same relaxing effect as a slightly longer book, while not taking much time to read. I personally love the idea of the story, a kitten pretending to be a tiger, and I think the way Nick Butterworth tells it is understated and very elegant. My favourite is the page about NOT playing with wool...

The pictures are excellent: bold, bright and clear like computer-generated images, yet retaining the detailed feel of hand-drawn art.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it, 17 Sep 2007
By J. Bassett - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Tiger (Paperback)
My wife got this book from the local library and my little boy (10 months) absolutely loved it. In fact, when it had to go back, he kept looking for it so we came on here and bought it along with the equally good follow-up "Tiger in the Snow".

The pictures are beautifully drawn and the story is simple and fun, with lots of scope for funny noises and actions as you are reading it to your child. Highly recommended.
