Before I saw this film, I had read many reviews which highly recommended this movie. I was expecting a lot and two thirds of the way through the movie, I was slightly disappointed. However, the finale was superb. Don't let this comment put you off as there are plenty of very good fights and action scenes in the first two thirds of the film as well. The main problem with this section of the film, is that certain comedy scenes were so corny that it made me cringe. One particular scene in which Crazy Dragon (Donnie yen) gets drunk was so corny, that it was unintentionally funny. With the humour aside, this film was very good all the way through but the fights at the end were special and brought the film up from a 4 star to a 5 star rating. Donnie Yen's ability in Wu Shu (Wu Shu is a style of Kung Fu) is amazing. His super kicks are as good as any you'll see. If you've never seen Donnie Yen in action, then watch this and you won't regret it!

What's the film about?
A case of illicit cash is stolen from a ruthless syndicate.
An impulsive ex cop (Donny Yen) and a pretty lawyer (Rosamund Kwan) has been accused of the violent theft. The mismatched pair must outwit criminals, police and uncover the real culprits.

Review
It's only a sequel to the previous Tiger Cage by name. If you can look past the mish-mash story line of the love triangle, quirky comedy and just focus on the action, this film would entertain the martial art fans.
Despite having Cynthia Khan and Carol Cheng in the film, both actresses were heavily underused and their roles in the film were criminally minimal for their stature. The action scenes are good, but it has aged slightly and you really are better off checking out the superior (In the line if duty) if you have not got it. Otherwise this film feels like going down nostalgia journey. I had to grade it 3 stars with the other fact that it is only available on retiring vhs. I may boost my mark up if HK legends or whoever get this movie on dvd with bonus extras?

Who would appreciate the movie best?
For those who wanna see Robin Shou (aka Lui Kang from Mortal Kombat) take on Donny Yen "albeit briefly ): ". Those who liked the late eighties, understand Cantonese is a bonus even though the film is subtitled. Oh, and martial arts fans!

Enjoyed it? Want more? Try:
Yuen Woo Ping's better effort (In the line of duty)
Donny Yen's gripping (SPL or Kill Zone)
