Designed to take extreme long exposure photographs in a manual set up, the aXent filter will allow you to blur the movement in your image. The intensity of this effect is achieved by manually setting up your camera and is a combination of aperture, shutter and ISO settings. When your DSLR is set in colour mode, the filter will allow through some IR light waves. The effect of IR absorption onto your sensor will depend on the lighting conditions and will gently to radically affect your image colour. On DSLR cameras you may require fine tuning of your colour balance, or re-adjusting in post software. An extreme colour cast similar to IR colour photography can also be achieved on Fuji X-Trans APS-C sensor cameras. This can also be heightened by retuning the colour balance.

Works really well, slight warming of the colours which I quite like, can be used with my other diameter lenses by using a step down adaptor. I also have a lee filter system but I much prefer the colours this filter gives (no blue cast). No light leaking issues because the filter is attached directly to the lens. Be aware however that with all 10 stop filters you will need to cover the viewfinder during the exposure, otherwise the camera exposure meter will give you a false reading. You can use the cover provided with most DSLRs or you can just place your thumb over the viewfinder during the exposure, be careful not to jog the camera. Hope this is helpful.

This has a serious purple colour cast for me, which is uncorrectable, even with a gretag Macbeth colour chart and appropriate software. It also knocks the contrast down very low and gives the whole image a hazy, patchy look. Hardly neutral density. The worst ND I've used. I suspect it's due to infrared interference, which a quality ND will block - for the record this is on a Nikon D600, which has a strong IR filter.

Purchased 82mm ND filter for our son who is a keen photographer. He found it gave a strong red cast which he could not clear with software so images only worked in black and white unless colour photo suitable for such a strong cast. Returned to amazon for refund.

Could only give two stars as this filter produces a strong red/magenta cast, particularly when shooting into light. Wish I'd paid a few pounds more for a descent one, such as Light Craft Workshop or Lee. You get what you pay for.
