When I first opened the basket to check everything was intact, I thought the set looked lovely, everything appeared intact, so I wrapped it up for Christmas. Upon taking it all completely out of the packaging today, I am disappointed for the following reasons:
1)The lids on the teapot and sugar bowl don't fit. In the case of the teapot, this means it slips off when the teapot is tipped up as if to pour.
2)The bases of all of the items are very rough, so they immediately snag the thin fabric of the picnic blanket.
3)One of the cups was broken, but not during transit - the glaze and gingham pattern on the outside is intact, although the cup itself is slightly oval, and there was a split running down the inside of the cup. (Like what happens when you squeeze a polystyrene cup.) This damage has obviously occurred in processing, and yet has still been boxed up and sold at full price. The damage was not visible until the cup was completely removed from the packaging.
I will be contacting the manufacturer, but in view of the fact that they would sell an item in this condition, I'm not holding out much hope.
