Product Description

Review

'Rowson adds an appealing hero to the British procedural ranks.' Kirkus'Hoist the sales for DI Andy Horton and his sidekick Barney Cantelli. A series with a fair wind behind it and destined to go far.' Amy Myers 'A gripping read.'Yachts and Yachting Monthly 'Rowson's marine mystery series can do for the Solent what Inspector Morse did for Oxford.' Daily Echo 'A good quality domestic thriller. Strong plot and nice characterisation and dialogue. A notch above the average fare out there. Rowson is clearly a crime writer to watch. Tide of Death is a chance to catch her early.' www.amazon.com

This book sadly wasn't one of my favourite recent reads.

The lack of coherence in the plot, lack of characterisation and seemingling random turn of events all contribute to why I found it a disappointing read.

Unless you love crime novels set against the backdrop of Portsmouth and yachting, I wouldn't bother.

I bought a few of these books for my husband as we are local to the area in which they are set. He felt none of the stories had any backbone, lacked excitement and were extremly predictable. The only reason he finished each one was in the hope the storyline would improve, which never materialized.

Pauline Rowson has combined the glamorous yachting world on the south coast with the seedy criminal world in a fast moving, easy to read marine mystery.

Her use of description and character creation transports you straight into the world of deception and intrigue.

I could not put this book down and really got to know the characters, it is a must read and lets you forget about everyday chores, a true escape!
