Oceans Apart by C.J. Pinard

Sergeant Riley Forrester has just spent a magical summer with a hot single mom named Cara, but has been sent to Afghanistan to serve his country. He thought the summer was just a fling, but finds he can't stop thinking about Cara. Will their long-distance relationship last, or should he let her go once his deployment ends? If only love was that easily defined…

My Despicable Ex by Sierra Rose

She thinks he’s despicable. He wants her back…with a vengeance.

Ashly Roberts and Jake Connors are barely twenty when they decide to take the proverbial plunge and walk down the aisle to exchange vows in front of the dearly beloved. Basking in bridal bliss, Ashly feels she is living the perfect fairytale, until she’s faced with a runaway groom, dumped at the altar by bad-boy fiancé, Jake Connors.
Jake realizes that being a no-show for their nuptials was the worst mistake of his life. A little older and more mature, he is ready to fight for Ashly’s love once again. When Ashly sees him, she can’t deny the attraction she feels, but her hormones are overruled by the horror of what he did to her in the past. Nevertheless, Jake’s most potent weapon, those dazzling baby blues, ignites a spark in Ashly, no matter how angry she wants to be. She cannot deny the spark, and she only hopes the inferno it ignites will not consume her heart again.

Saving Forever by Lexy Timms

Charity Thompson wants to save the world, one hospital at a time. Instead of finishing med school to become a doctor, she chooses a different path and raises money for hospitals – new wings, equipment, whatever they need. Except there is one hospital she would be happy to never set foot in again--her fathers. So of course he hires her to create a gala for his sixty-fifth birthday. Charity can’t say no. Now she is working in the one place she doesn’t want to be. Except she’s attracted to Dr. Elijah Bennet, the handsome playboy chief.
Will she ever prove to her father that’s she’s more than a med school dropout? Or will her attraction to Elijah keep her from repairing the one thing she desperately wants to fix?

Tangled Beauty by Kristen Middleton

Sinclair Jeffries thought she knew what she was getting into when her zany, gay friend, Jesse Eddington, talked her into portraying his girlfriend during his parent's anniversary party on Huntington Beach. That is, until she met Reed, Jesse's sexy as hell older brother, and ends up getting much more than what she'd bargained for.

Reed Eddington assumed his future was settled until he met Sinclair, his brother's so-called "girlfriend", but the raw, sexual tension between them is hard to ignore. As he watches their ruse from the sidelines, he finds himself wanting to uncover more than just their amusing little facade.

2.0 out of 5 stars parts of 3 stories + 1 novella 24 May 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
They would all benefit from editor/proofreader
Oceans apart by cj pinard 2* short story about 20 pages. Very little to it, really just reminiscences by riley of sex scenes with Cara seen in book, patriotic duty.. Loads typos grammatical errors.
My despicable ex by sierra rose 2* typos, grammar, illogical events. The latter might enable the story but..!
SPOILER..THIS BOOK IS ONLY PART OF A STORY, therefore its not a book in itself, blurb doesnt say so. It stops bang in middle of Africa. Loads of inaccuracies re safari. Author appears to have used resort website for experiences. Open top landrovers dont have a trunk. Elephants wouldn't want to drink chlorine water in plunge pool especially as we are told room overlooks a waterhole. Zebra etc wouldn't sit in the shade because they don't sit. Most animals rest during heat of day. Best time for safari is dawn. Fastest land mammal not leopard but cheetah. African buffalo different species to water buffalo which dont occur in SA. You dont get close to them as they are really dangerous and bad tempered, certainly not 25 feet as in book. Rhinos are solitary so dont hang out in a herd. Rivers in Kruger have bilharzia, parasitic worm. You wouldn't catch me going near any open water in Kruger park. Croc scene unbelievable. Author should have checked facts before making a novel with trips around the world. The book reads like a travelogue at times. I don't know accuracy of other areas visited in book. About 130 pages.
Saving forever by lexy timms 2*,first page, says part 1!! Oh dear.Loads wrong /missing words, nonsensical conversations eg she meets elijah in lift who says he'll take her to father as has meeting with him.Just out lift he phones for some xrays to come there urgently.

4.0 out of 5 stars It was good 26 May 2014

To be honest I didn't realize that I had already purchased 3 of these books for free. They were all good books and I read them again in this set. The first story I had not read before and I had a difficult time getting into the book. To be honest I ended up skipping over it after a little while. If I find the time I may go back and try again.
1.0 out of 5 stars Stupid. The second story by Sierra Rose 28 Aug 2014

Stupid. The second story by Sierra Rose, My Despicable Ex, forced me to write this review. I got through chapter 3, but from what came up to that point, everyone in this girl's life was despicable. I disliked the first three chapters in this story so much I just gave up and deleted the whole book from my kindle. This was in spite of enjoying the first story by C. J. Pinard. I had already read her two novels associated with this story and expected it to be rehash with a lot of chunks taken from the two novels. I was pleasantly surprised to find it expanded and reinterpreted events in "Tour of Duty".
1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother 10 Sep 2014

story one was short and ok story 2 was not a complete story and you must purchase the 2nd book to finish, the 3rd story is the exact same. I was soo angry by the time I finished book 3. What a rotten scam to get people to purchase books the description should have warned you that stories were not complete. Book 4 in unbelievable and stupid. I realize this book is free but what a waste of time
