A wonderful book, as are all of Paul Atterbury's, but this paperback version is the same as the hardback version inside and just the cover photograph is different. So don't be deceived and buy it twice.

The text is fascinating, the photographs and pictures are excellent quality. A thoroughly lovely book to own and browse through.

This is one of those books to pick up instead of watching the gloomy news!

Branchline Railways 6 Dec 2011
An interesting book with many photographs of branchline stations and trains. I found Mr Atterbury's style makes for very easy and interesting reading.

I bought this book as a gift for a friend who has helped me a great deal in researching my family tree. I found out he was interested in railways and used to work on them before retirement. I had a quick glance through the book and I too thought it was interesting. The next week I saw him after having given the book to him, he told me it was a really good read and brought back a lot of memories. The photographs were good too - a book to be recommended.
