I wasn't expecting to see such a funny Britflick (few are these days) when I picked up this DVD. It was the praise heaped on the film (the blurbs on the back of the box) that convinced me to check it out, and I'm glad I did. It isn't so much a romantic comedy as a biting commentary on the life paths of several London women. The cast all slip into their roles with ease, and the central characters, a pair of lesbian women who would like a baby together, are a treat to watch. Some of their lines really are funny, and the awkward bed talk a lot of these characters have is something a lot of us can relate to.

Cartoonist Sasha and lawyer Maya are thirty-something north Londoners on the hunt for potential sperm donors. They, and the friends and family around them, all seem to be having similar problems in the bedroom, but in true British style they just can't seem to get them out in the open. A single woman who wants to make a baby with a feisty university lad, a bickering couple whose procreative shagging hits a psychological snag, many common problems emanating from the bedroom are addressed in the film
I like the acting and idea behind the film, but it has a short film feel to it and I actually think it would have worked much better as such rather than what it is now as it seems very long and slow moving. Very unhappy with the whole lesbians taking a man home to get pregnant - definitely a star off for that!!! - even if they sort of show the ensuing issues quite realistically.

Wish I had saved my money
Typical cheap production brit flick, jumpy camera, no setting of tone. I didn't laugh once, can't believe it was meant to be a comedy!

another bad lesbian movie
Why do I always believe the praise given by others. I had high hopes for this movie but was let down and wished that I had saved my money.

Odd - but if you really don't have anything better to watch on a wet...
