Not what it seems,

This review is from: The Tick of Death (Sergeant Cribb Investigations) (Paperback)
Beware - this is not a new book as I was led to believe when I ordered it back in May but a reissue of "Invitation to a Dynamite Party" from 1974 with an American title! There is nothing to suggest this in the Amazon description.
Even so I have rated this 5 stars because it was always a rattling good story and even the silly "sexed-up" new title can't alter that. This version contains at least one typographical error which changes "carriages" into "carnages"!

title change not new book,

This review is from: The Tick of Death (Sergeant Cribb Investigations) (Paperback)
Bought 'the tick of death' thinking that Peter Lovesey had written a new Sargeant Cribb novel. How disappointing that it was an old book re-issued under another title. I returned the book to amazon as I already have this one under the original title 'invitation to a dynamite party'. According to Amazon this was my error therefore had to pay out for return postage, even though there was no information about this book.
As far as the book is concerned it is an excellent read. No thanks to Amazon.

I have written about this to you before (without receiving the courtesy of a reply)- when a book is republished under a new title "The Tick of Death" rather than the original "Invitation to a Dynamite Party" it is surely incumbent on you to inform putative purchasers rather than let us believe that Lovesey has returned to the delightful Sgt Cribb.
