I found Rosenthal's book a good starting point when first diagnosed. It explains very well the Biology of thyroid conditions, the symptoms, treatments etc. The focus on women meant that I learnt a lot that was not even considered in other books. As my diagnosis has progressed I have found it lacking in detail unfortunately but still do refer to it on occassion. If you've just been diagnosed and need something readable, that considers issues particular to women in an informative manner, I would recommend this book.
