The Thundercats are a group of feline warriors battling to save their homeworld. This brand new story picks up where the 80s television series left off and with art by red hot creator Ed McGuinness (Superman), J Scott Campbell (Danger Girl) and Francisco Herrera...the Thundercats are back! Lion-O, Panthro, Tygra, Cheetara and the Thunderkittens seek to rebuild a new life for themselves on New Thundera but there are ominous stirrings at Mumm-Ra's pyramid. The ancient spirits of evil seek to unleash the Shadowmaster from the Shadow Realm and it might just spell doom for our heroes! This is the first volume in a new Titan series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thundercats! Hooooo!!!, 7 Oct 2010
By Vulture Girl "Rid" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Thundercats: Reclaiming Thundera (Paperback)
Thundercats Reclaiming Thundera takes place where the classic 80s action cartoon left off in the final episode Book of Omens. In this story, the Thundercats rebuild their lives on their native homeworld New Thundera. At the same time, they battle Mumm-Ra, the Mutants, Lunataks and other diabolical villains. Reclaming Thundera contains Thundercats issues #0-#5 published by Wildstorm.

In the first part of Reclaming Thundera, Lion-O, WilyKat and Wilykit recall their times with Mumm-Ra and the Mutants. Later, the Ancient Spirits of Evil summon the Shadowmaster and sends him to New Thundera to annihilate the Thundercats.

The Ancients Spirits of Evil resurrect Mumm-Ra to annihilate the Thundercats. Mumm-Ra battles the samurai Hachiman and threatens his ill father. Hachiman then turns to the Thundercats for help to save his father. Vultureman and the rest of the Mutants then come to New Thundera come to kill them.

Next, Panthr-O takes his new Thunder Tank to Third Earth for a test drive and to search for thundrillium. Meanwhile, the space cop Mandora the Evil Chaser, a friend and ally of the Thundercats, is taken prisoner by the fearsome Lunatacs who are out for vengeance on the Thundercats. The nasty Lunatacs then unleash their vengdetta on the Thundercats.

Later, Mumm-Ra kidnaps Wilykat and holds him prisoner. Lion-O and the others then set out to rescue their comrade.

In the final issue, Mumm-Ra resurrects Grune the Destroyer, a former Thundercat gone evil. His goal is to kill Lion-O. Lion-O and Grune go to Third Earth and fight to the death with the use of the Sword of Omens and the Sword of Plundarr. After Grune's defeat, Mumm-Ra receives his Sword of Plundarr and goes to sleep, dreaming of the Thundercats defeat while Lion-O goes back into the Book of Omens to become the Lord of the Thundercats. But he is soon imprisoned in the book in "book time" by Mumm-Ra.

If you are a Thundercat fan, then don't miss Reclaiming Thundera. You'll see all the classic Thundecats characters and their allies, plus all the classic villains the Mutants, Lunatacs and Mumm-Ra. I,m a fan the 80s classic and it's great to see where the story continues after where the cartoon left off. I would recommend this to any Thundercat fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars thunder-ous applause, 5 Jan 2007

perfect condition, a little disappointed w/ the story line, very kiddie-like, cartoonish, I thought it might be darker like Batman is in the comics or Ninja Turtles, a little childish
