Product Description

Product Description

The ideal way to begin to learn about renewable energy, this solar car kit is both informative and lots of fun. Build the car, attach the solar panel, and watch it go for a run in the sun. As well as the knowledge the person building it will gain, they will also have the satisfaction of constructing something from scratch, including assembling the motor and chassis, affixing the wheels, making up the gearbox, and attaching the solar panel. But if the sun is reluctant to come out then that’s no problem, because the car can also run on battery power, simply flip a switch on the car’s chassis and the battery will take up the strain. The car is 21cm long and 8cm wide, has an impressive top speed of over 3 meters a second and can go up hills of 30 degrees or less. It is also remarkably easy to assemble and operate.

The instructions were terribly written and hard to understand. The product quality was cheap and the wires came off almost straight away, the soldering on the circuit board was terrible and the wires were flimsy didn't seem like a proffesionally designed product. I ordered two of these as presents and they both had to be given back because of the same problem!

My son got this for xmas and he is technically minded, used to assembling things like this, but neither he nor I could work out the assembly instructions. And almost immediately, a wire came loose from the circuit board. This was very cheap quality.
