Thule One Key System Lock, Set Of 4
Ordered these locks to fit to my Thule roof bars. They were a doddle to fit (just push them in to the lock housing)and one key for all four locks is very handy. I went on holiday recently with three bikes fitted to the roof bars. We had:
locks fitted to the cycle bars so that the bikes couldn't be removed from the carriers
locks on the cycle carriers so they couldn't be removed from the roof bars
The reviewed locks fitted to the roof bars so that the whole unit couldn't be removed from the car with the bikes attached.
I know this may seem over the top security wise but each of these is so easy to remove with Thule quick release fasters that when we got home it took me 5 minutes to remove bikes, bike carriers and roof bars from my car, when you consider that even a quick stop at a services station for toilet breaks takes longer than this, you can see the necessity for decent security.
No lock will stop the determined thief so all you can do is make your situation less attractive to the prospective burglar than the next vehicle, these lock do just that and could make an opportunist thief think twice about targeting your vehicle.
With roof bar and attached equipment theft on the rise I think this kind of deterrent is essential. It also gives you peace of mind when leaving the car for service station breaks or ferry crossings and so well worth the money.
