Product Description

It s the MUTT'S NUTS!

A dark, yet humorous gangster film full of northern grit, THUGS, MUGS & DOGS centres on ruthless businessman, Gordy Metcalf (ex-Underworld enforcer, Dave Courtney) who owns the best greyhound in the country and is married to the lustiest and bustiest wife (Cathy Barry) on either side of the Watford Gap!
Council estate lad Danny (Martin Owen) and his pals, find their lives endangered by the decade-long feud between Gordy and an ex-greyhound trainer. The hapless trio find themselves trapped between both sides, with all thoughts of escape futile. They can die tomorrow or stay alive for a few more months, the latter being the lesser of two evils.
This is an intricate tale of collaboration between loyal friends and the dire consequences of planning their revenge against the Mr Big of dog racing. Like a game of high-stakes poker, the man with the most money should win but in this tale, the winner gets to keep his life! Set against the industrial back-drop of the North-East, THUGS, MUGS & DOGS is the most talked about northern crime film since the original GET CARTER.
With a heart-stopping culmination filmed at Europe's richest greyhound race at Peterborough's Fengate Stadium, THUGS, MUGS & DOGS features an all-star cast led by Dave Courtney (The Krays, Triads, Yardies & Onion Bhajees), Paul Usher (Brookside, The Bill), Cathy Barry (Diary of a Milf), Thomas Craig (Coronation Street) and Lisa Riley (Emmerdale).

1.0 out of 5 stars Cringe! 27 May 2011
By MiMi
This film isn't a film..... its a badly put together bundle of mostly pointless scenes of badly written and badly acted (one or two are ok)script.

No surprise it wasn't distributed.
No words can describe how amateur it is.

Shameful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dreadful, DREADful, DREADFUL!! 30 Nov 2011
What an absolutely dreadful film.

I love British gangster movies and probably own or have seen just about everything ever done.

This is very badly acted, a really naff storyline and very cheap budget. I really wonder why anyone would want to make a film like this if no money is available!

Awful! Avoid...unless you have a couple of hours to use up that you have nothing else worthwhile filling with.

Anyone that says otherwise, clearly has never seen a good Brit gansgter film.

I will definitely be handing this to the local charity shop.

1.0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE ACTING, AWFUL SCRIPT 20 April 2011

Thugs, Mugs & Dogs [DVD] [2011]
We have just watched this film and it is possibly the worst acted, most purile, wannabe Brit gangster movie ever. The acting of almost all of the cast is wooden, the script and storyline pretty pathetic. It felt like an extremely poor copycat, wannnabe attempt at replicating Lock Stock or any of the other recent Brit gangsters. I hadnt realised how polished even the worst of those are until I saw this film.
